Photographer's Note

I never before took so many pictures of schoolgirls and -boys as on this trip to Sri Lanka. They are striking the eye in their white school uniforms (always thought about their mothers who had to do the laundry). And all the preferred places of Sri Lankan history, as Anuradhapura in this case, that we as tourists wanted to see, are places the schools chose for outings to teach the children about their heritage. So children dressed neatly in white and tourists always meet in the same places.
On this picture a "puja" a procession to offer sacrifices passed, and it is good customs to touch the gifts or the people to take part in their holy action. The woman in front carries a package for gift that contains the belongings of a buddhist monk: orange-colored shawls and the begging bowl.
