Photographer's Note

Alongside a Road in the city of Taxila, handworkers are busy in crafting Morters (Morter= a receptacle of hard material, having a bowl-shaped cavity in which substances are reduced to powder with a pestle).

Taxila is a old city dating back to 5 Century B.C and it has been declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site with multiple locations. The city of Taxila is famous in the world due to its connection to Ghandara civilization and Buddhist background.

Taxila houses many advance techonology factories but it is also famous in Pakistan for stone ware.People try to relate the present day stone ware craft to the tradition of sculpture making that existed here before the advent of Islam in this region.
