Photographer's Note

Gert showed not long time ago the pictures from the boat trip in India. I have also experience in boat trips. I was only once on a sail boat, and it was terrible, a few hours on a ferry, like to Sweden is OK, but I would never go for the ocean cruise, I would feel like in prison. No problem, it is very expensive so I will not be tempted.
What I really like is the boat trip on a big river, when I can see the shores all the time. It is very nice, to sit on board and see the views of the life near the water. I spent one day on Rhine, three days on Yangtze, two days on Mekong (from Thailand to Laos). My dream is to go on Volga or Mississippi, but probably it is not possible.
Anyway, in Myanmar we went from Bagan to Mandalay on the Irawadi. We trip started at sunrise and finished at sunset. I liked it very much. We could observe fine scenes. Here the stop in Pakokku.

It is situated about 30 km north-west of Bagan on the Irrawaddy River.
The town is the location of Computer University, Pakokku, Pakokku Education College, Technological University, Pakokku, and Pakokku University. Thiho Shin Pagoda, Shwe Ku Pagoda, Shwe Mothtaw Pagoda,Shwe Tant Tit,and Phaung Taw Oo Pagoda are famous pagodas which locate at Pakokku. Irrawaddy Bridge (Pakokku) is the longest bridge in Myanmar.

The Irrawaddy River or Ayeyarwady River is a river that flows from north to south through Myanmar. It is the country's largest river and most important commercial waterway. Originating from the confluence of the N'mai and Mali rivers, it flows relatively straight North-South before emptying through the Irrawaddy Delta into the Andaman Sea. Its drainage basin of about 404,200 square kilometres (156,100 sq mi) covers a large part of Burma. After Rudyard Kipling's poem, it is sometimes referred to as 'The Road to Mandalay'.

Much better to see the bigger and sharper beta picture
