Photographer's Note

Just could not resist the vibrant colors of their clothings popped out against darker background as they went about their chores seemingly obiivious to everything around them, allowing me enough time to grab a couple of frames. A glimpse of Intha people's daily life at Namp Phan village Inle Lake and what's most interesting was seeing these villages that exist in between the two worlds: land and water.

This rustic wooden houses are built with stilts on water that jut out into the lake and interconnected by bridges and waterways. You can easily get lost in this watery world - a marshy lake with no definite “this is where the lake starts”. The land just slowly gets soggier and soggier as you try to get closer to it.

Activities are carried out in small rowing boats and long boats that skitter along small channels carrying people, goods, etc, etc. This active narrow waterways is where children play, people bathe, do their laundry and wash, everything..
