Photographer's Note

Once upon a time somewhere in Rangoon ......

Remember when you looked high and low for one? This was a private-cum-public paid phone, it appeared in the morning when the shop owner brought it outside on the sidewalk and disappeared at the end of day.

Once much sought after is probably gone by now and those days are nearly over and whom do we have to thank for!! Once, in the early days of the mobile phone, it was to show off that you were one of the few who could afford that expensive gadget. Now it is a cheaper common universal comfort blanket and is being used 24/7 - need or no need.

Must be that I am just a grumpy old man but listening to others on public transport prattling on about the mundane, is so ever so depressing...

How did we manage without the mighty mobile phone?
