Photographer's Note
Gophers are very timid and at the same time extremely curious animals. When I was a child I read a story about a local man hunting gophers in a very original fashion. He danced, made clumsy movements in order to attract attention of gophers. When the distance between him and the nearest rodent was close enough he grasped a rifle and shot.
I decided to use the same technique to shoot gophers. The performance was provided by a friend of mine who grimaced and jumped on a safe distance from the hole. While I was sneaking up inch by inch to the target, using the setting sun and making shots. This one was the last after which the gopher squealed and vanished in his sanctuary.

Thanks for sharing your technique. This little guy is striking quite a pose and his shadow is great. The lighting is great too. The olnly thing that bothers me a little bit is the blurry pieces of foliage, but it's only a very tiny, teeny litttle distraction.
