[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
I found this archtecture on a temple wall. This temple is located near Mysore City. The temple is about 600 - 700 years old. I have more pictures of the temple coming up shortly.

what live engravings ! I love such artworks& like to know more about this temple ( date of construction, name, etc..) complete data ;-)
nice picture, Santosh .keep posting !

Is this Siva? Just curious.

I like this capture of the whole sculpted scene, though I would also love to have more information on the subject; for example, can you explain why the goddess has changed colors (is there a ritual of touching or painting this part of the relief?) I also wonder how the presentation would look if it were just focused on Kali and the Demon? Since the left side of the photo seems a little overexposed.

I am looking forward to more pictures of the temple. :o)

The feet of Hindu deities are very important. In fact, in Indian tradition, touching the feet of elders and deities for benediction is very common. Vermillion and turmeric paste/powder are often applied on sacred images or sculptures, either as tilaks or tikas (the dots on the forehead) or as adornment on any part of the deity's body. Part of the rituals concerning the worship of deities (especially in South India) consists in giving ritual baths of sacred water, milk, honey and turmeric to the deity, which might explain the change in colour here. Hope that helps!

Durga? Very nice clear shot!
