This is one of the images I had in mind when I made the comment on your photo with children in the corn field as being superior.
Sohrab my friend, this image absolutely blows me away to the point that anything I say will simply be a waste of time. Perhaps later on when I pick up my jaw and collect my thoughts I will write something more detailed, for now I will just enjoy it.
WORK OF ART.

A wonderful, wonderful composition, a poem in b/w, Sohrab... marvellous elements... there is something in it that decidedly evokes Cartier Bresson to me... and is that boy just jumping into the water down there? Spellbinding. A masterpiece!

"indian underwear- flutters in the as it is left out"
Oh - modern poetry at it's finest, I'm still gobsmacked and confused, the underwear flutters in something, but what _is_ it (hopefully not in the arse).
Now apart from this slight mockery I must say that I'm very impressed by this shot, the way you managed to combine in the precisely correct moment the two unrelated activities of a priest hanging clothes out to dry and a boy jumping in the water to get wet.

Fantastic vision to make so much out of such a simple and mundane scene Sohrab - absolutely wonderful juxtaposition from the fore and midgrounds to this compelling action in the background - one of your best imho
best wishes kev

They say it's "work of art" and "poem in B&W" and they should know but I can't see why... ;o((( - I must learn a LOT more, Sohrab, before I will be able to analyse your photography. But one day...
And ONE thing is sure, it DOES attract me, picture after picture, even if I don't take the time to tell you. Sometimes I'm amazed, stunned, impressed, or, just like today, amused... Thank you for the smile - also thanks to Torben's joke! :o)))

How many times can you honestly say you've seen a photograph of someone's underwear hanging out to dry and say "what an absolutely brilliant photo"?
Once.
And this is that photograph!
Simple yet complex.
Private yet public.
Colourful yet black and white.
An inspiring photograph. TFS.

This one goes straight to my favorites. I can fool around and say that only you can make an underwear shot to get to my favorites, but compositionally this defies further comments. Hence I shut up.
[I came back to this after about 10 minutes. Sohrab, this is abosolutely genius]

yeah, like Maciej said, it is complex. so well done. for me, the man jumping makes it, it would be good with him, but with him, it is stellar. and the foreground is an entirely different story, situation, composition. really impressive, superb work.
smiles later... if I could give this one 10, I would.

my god this is an awesome photo! :O
I could tell from the thumbnail that the lighting was beautiful but when I opened the large photo I was amazed by that guy jumping. He is so tiny and yet my eye is immediately drawn to him. His placement (dead center) is perfect. Wow. This is an inspiring shot. Thanks! JP

sohrab,
i have rarely seen a photograph this good. i am awestruck.
i think the photo is all about "looking through". the underwear story is really a story of things precautiously hidden yet vouyeuritically seen. truly magnificient.

I never cpmmented on this pic before, Sohrab, for muy sins...;o) Actually it happened to be rotated as a "favorite" shot on the opening page todday and I was struck by the thumbnail. This, perhaps more than any other shot of yours shows one thing verty clearly: the seemingly easy elegance of your eye - the subtle way you "see" things. I mean - underwear, you know... But here they are like the small sails of ships.
And as if that wasn't enough you have three shadowy figures walking beneath from bottom right to the center, out in the blinding ligyht of that day.
It is a great shot, you know, a "classic" photograph.
What can I say...?
Best,
Francis
