Photographer's Note
The Akal Takt in the middle, directly opposite to the Harmandir Sahib was founded by the 6th Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind, as a symbol of political sovereignty and where spiritual and temporal concerns of the Sikh people could be addressed. The Akal Takht was built on a site where there existed only a high mound of earth across a wide open space. It was a place where Guru Hargobind played as a child.
It is the chief Takht, a center of authority in Sikhism. It is also the headquarters of the main political party of the Indian state of Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal (supreme Akali party). The Sikh tradition has 5 Takhts, all of which are major pilgrimage sites in Sikhism. These are in Anandpur, Patna, Nanded, Talwandi Sabo and Amritsar. The Akal Takht in the Golden temple complex is the primary seat and chief. The modern building is a five-story structure with marble inlay and a gold-leafed dome. Three of the stories were added by Ranjit Singh in the 1700s. Source : wiki

Hello Miguel,
A great view across the calm water. The mainly white buildings look good, especially in this soft sunlight. The golden domes make a great contrast against the backdrop. Well captured with good clarity.

The golden dome and its "satelite" turrets were shining in contrast to the white marble edifice.
Pity that lightbwas subdued, but you could not choose the weather, at any tiem and place.

Not much that you could do about the scaffolding. I always think it's better to get a shot than no shot at all! Good sharpness, nice reflections and the golden domes add a splash of color. Well composed too using the rule of thirds. Tfs!

Hello Miguel,
The golden domes and the orange flagpoles are the obvious eye-catchers in this photo. The huge satellite dish is a less pretty element in a place like this, but even a holy temple has to adapt to modern life, I suppose. It's a good and as usual well taken photo and again I regret I didn't come here.

This is a splendid building; maybe splendid does not go far enough, it is awe inspiring!
The beauty of the white architecture, the pillars, the arches, the decorations and the gilded domes is superb. Someone had an inspirational idea to design this.
I think most grand, religious buildings seem to have scaffolding and repair work ongoing but it does not spoil our ability to see the grand building.
What does surprise me is the large satellite dish. I feel sure it would not have received planning permission on such a prestigious building in the UK.

Bonjour Miguel,
Un très bel endroit vu d'un très beau point de vue de l'autre côté de la rivière. Le blanc est à l'honneur et les dômes dorés ressortent bien dans ce ciel gris.

I am much more interested in architecture than in people so this is a treat for me.
The golden dome is amazing but I like very much also the multitude of smaller domes above the building on the left.
Very decorative and eye catching.
The view across the water adds a nice effect too.
