Most people around here do have washingmachines - Hard to image life without this kind of help - specially after seeing this fine capture of daily life - a fine composition - I like the zig-zag line and the fine colours of the clothes - thanks Alfred - a fine job.

True Geomatrical pattern comes out from your shot.The steps to the Ghat..right bottom cement places and the rest half filled by greenish black water.Excellent.

You manage the geometry of the setting well, but it is how you've handled the woman and her laundry that set this image apart. One would expect no less that fine colors and details from your excellent equipment and you surely do not disappoint.

I could imagine, however, a composition that would give less emphasis to the stone landing and more to the woman and her work. The water element really adds little to the image, except to fill space demanded by your decision to include so much of the stone. I've created a workshop suggesting one such treatment. See what you think Alfred.

Hi Alfred, what a beautiful view of this Indian woman cleaning her clothes. The whole scene is very clear and with great sharpness, we can see perfectly the dirty surface of the water, thanks to the good light of the photo. This is a very good daily life shot where we can see how hard is sometimes some things so easy here in our countries. I hope I will go to India one day! Thanks & brgds. Jaume

I was going through your pictures and this one really attracted me. It is superb! Excellent composition and the colors limited to the washed ones and the one she is wearing makes the composition clean. If this were mine, I would clone out the white piece floating on the water.

Hello Alfred,
you are posting nice documentary, very TE type pictures. That's very nice!!
It is beautiful the angle that you chose. The stairs make a nice diagonal in the left corners(a the top, it is more subtle because of the water. At the bottom right, again, another nice geometric form. And in the water, we can see the soap...a bit like oil on water. Finally, the beautiful colors in the basket is a nice touch too.

I like the staight lines with steps and the angles, and by opposition the rounds in the water and of the bowl. the color are soft and the woman is perfect in her expression.
