The Tibetan Lama Temple in Beijing, easily reached by a 10 minute walk from the subway. From Wikipedia:

"Building work on the Yonghegong Temple started in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty. It originally served as an official residence for court eunuchs. It was then converted into the court of the Prince Yong (Yin Zhen), a son of the Kangxi Emperor and himself the future Yongzheng Emperor. After Yongzheng's ascension to the throne in 1722, half of the building was converted into a lamasery, a monastery for monks of Tibetan Buddhism. The other half remained an imperial palace.

After Yongzheng's death in 1735, his coffin was placed in the temple. The Qianlong Emperor, Yongzheng's successor, gave the temple imperial status signified by having its turquoise tiles replaced with yellow tiles which were reserved for the emperor. Subsequently, the monastery became a residence for large numbers of Tibetan Buddhist monks from Mongolia and Tibet, and so the Yonghe Lamasery became the national centre of Lama administration."

Beautiful view Chris, colorful, good composition and good quality too.
thanks, ciao

The details of this temple are simply amazing!!!!
Colors of the temple also are great
Unfortunately the sky too white here in picture
Anyway, I like this image.I will add it in my theme
All the best

Hello Chris,
Good point of view on these temple buildings. Pleasing geometric lines with good colours and clarity.

The detail of the temple architecture is exquisite and you have captured it so well. The position of the three people echos the corner perspective of the temple. Interesting.
Kath

A typical nice looking architecture this Lama Temple, very fine detailled Chris, the people in front scaling but not really fitting :).
greetings
Henk

Bonsoir,
belle photo de ce temple Tibétain aux toit si particulier et si jolis.
Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté qui nous laisse apparaître beaucoup de détails de cette architecture particulière a ces pays asiatiques.

Amitiés Thomas

Fantastic architecture, and by Beijing standards, the sky could have been worse (at least the sun can still make shadows through the smog),the tourists, well..., they'r unavoidable I guess.

Hello Chr,s
Indeed it is a fine place which I visited in 2006, and I was complaining because thge visit was too short.
You show well the pretty colorful roofs of the structure and the tourists, give some depth. but I feel a bit disturbed by the great deal of light that is reflected by the court, and start thinking was there a way to crop hişgher and take less ?

Hi Chris
Wonderful architecture in this nice daily life picture. Great colours and details
TFS and have a nice day

Bonjour Chris,
un ciel bien pâle, mais de belles couleurs au niveau des constructions.
Une photo qui manque un rien de contrastes.
Un beau clin d'oeil à l'architecture traditionnelle.
Regards.
daniel.

Hi Chris,
good capture of the architecture and some people for scale. It looks very bright must have been strong sunlight. The details of the temples are good presented in that view, a pity that the sky gave less additional contrast.
