This persons are wherever in the world always interesting charaters, somewhere playing dice like here, or chess or cards.
The composition is well done, the concentration is taken, and the position in foreground is a real focus on this persons

You are venturing into the realm of people photography I see. Do you feel more comfortable with it? It is really strange that out of 9 people not one of them appears to notice you, so engrossed are they in their games. Funny to see 2 of them are sitting on upturned buckets.
I think this is one of those (rare) occasions when I prefer the B&W; it seems to handle the scan better.

have very similiar scene from lisboa, people playing cards,
so - as you probably may guess - i love this sort of moments, this sort of scenes, so natural, so undisturb, so "daily", no sweety, no postcardish, just life as it is...

This is great - lots of character (and characters) in this image, the viewpoint looking over the men is good. None of them seem to be aware of you or the camera.

I do prefer the B&W version, I personally find B&W to be a better medium for these shots, but this is fine as it is.

Your pic is superb: there are so many stories!! I am captured by the man looking the other's cards... but close to hime there is another one, so concentrate!

Olá Ricardo. Adoro a forma como conseguiste colocar 9 pessoas, em grupos de três, bem distribuidas de forma a que todas estejam perfeitamente visíveis e com uma postura interessante. O motivo de várias camisas, aos quadrados, ficou também em harmonia com o padrão dos muros. Excelente fotografia.

i dont know what it really makes the difference, but asian people, or people from "poorer" countries in gerneral, seem to be more exciting and more photogenic than westerners ( at least in my opinion ) . although the pic lacks some photographic aspects ( sharness and too much noise ) it tells a story in each face. i think the fact that nobody looks into the camera gives the picture and other reason of special interest because it tells about chinas past ! maybe i see to much in this picture, but i really like it !

I like the fact that this photo is vertical, I don't know why, and it is great to see in one shot so many elderly men enjoying spending time in such a way, definitely they don't look bored,

Interessante que eu tenho uma foto, que nunca postei, com um assunto quase igual a esse. A conclusão que eu chego é que os povos, em essência, são muito parecidos em qualquer lugar do mundo.
