When visiting China, I found out that some of the steriotypes about chinese people, really are true. They really love gambling and do it all the time and everywhere and they are really "outdoorsy" in a very chinese way. The streets and urban parks are filled everyday with people walking their singing birds, kite ridding, dancing and...of course, doing Tai Chi.

This was taken very early in the morning, from the window of my room that gave out to what I think was a school courtyard. The temple looking building seen in the back is what I think was the school.

What you don't see in the photo, is the VERY loud music that went along with the Tai Chi practise, that woke me up, at around 7:00a.m. in the morning.
This was one idea I did not have about chinese before I went to China: they are a very loud people!

Lovely photo. A great way to get some exercise. :-) Fair play to them. Nice colour and great angle in your image.

Interesting photo, Ricardo, where the wide angle worked out very nicely to include the pagoda-roof building to establish the Chinese setting, and to include the foreground plaza with the folks doing their Tai-Chi. Very good TE stuff, I like it. And wow, sure a bathroom with a scenic view you had there ...

Hi Ricardo!
You know how slow I am. I will visit your gallery eventually. But I catched that one "on the fly"! I cannot do otherwise. I did tai chi for many years, so my eyes stopped here! I like your point of view. The tiny people doing their tai chi and the big building in the background! I'm surprise to learn that they do that on music! That was not the case where I practiced. And for me, it is impossible to do tai chi with music. Tai chi has its own rythm and music and you have to follow that, not the opposite. That is very strange to me...
Cantonese is a very musical language. I worked some time with Cantonese people. When they were talking, I thought they were singing!
Thanks for this one Ricardo!
Claire

Hi Ricardo!
I like this shot, not only because I practise thai chi too.Good composition with the exercising people in front of this interesting building. The cloudy sky and the not bright colors make a nice atmosphere. You were lucky to have such a good view.
Regards,Leo

i was amaze that u said they were loud.i actually find them very silent type.maybe i'll go to china and find out for myself.

If it wasn't as early as 7am it would be nice to wake up to this scene. Your hotel seems to have been in a good place, although I'm not too sure about the loo in front of the window.
I can't decide between this and the sepia version. As the colours are fairly muted anyway the sepia version is a good alternative.
Kath

salut ricardo
tu vois ca un france ce serai la panique, surtout a 7 du matin, ils sont fous ces chinois, la maison est superbe, les couleurs sont bien typique de chine, bravo

Hi Ricardo and congratulations by the Portugues team.

But, about the photo, good composition where only I would prefer a light not so strong. Then we could have a better contrast in the picture.

Regards.

Hi Ricardo,
interesting scene from the China, good POV and nice colours. I like it.

Hi Ricardo
Nice to see another one of your pictues from China. I really liked the series. I like the pov you have captured here. The Tai Chi action is well caught and the building is a nice, traditional backdrop. A great everyday scene.
Aubrey

A very interesting daily life shot, taken from a very good POV. The quality of the scan is superb - good sharpness and colours. Amusing WS.
Best wishes
Mark

Hi Ricardo,
A fascinating shot of these people performing their Tai Chi. I keep thinking about the loud music referenced in your note and think how incongruous that would be with such a delightful, peaceful scene. I thought Tai Chi was supposed to bring peace and inner harmony etc.?! I like the many layers of interest in this fine shot, and how one can appreciate the architectural details. The colours and tones are slightly muted, which seems appropriate. A very fine capture with an interesting note.

Hej Ricardo,
Good picture, nice to see all the people in the foreground of the shot and the building in the background looks fine as well. I find the colours of the photo very pleasant.
And the bathroom in the WS is indeed a very original one!. Thanks for sharing these pictures. :-)
Hilsen,
Lars

Hi Ricardo
I like this shot a lot...I really do. Actually I do like the reds & shades of them in the building...that's what would separate from the sepia version. The action of the people in the courtyard is brought out well..& I do like your loo with a view in the WS. The scan quality is good
Friendly Regards
Angshu

Ola Ricardo
Uff, horrible, I hate noise, besides that what I make on my own ;). And those people instead of lying in the bed, are making strange movements :D. So, nevertheless good capture and idea of warning me - not to go to China :). I like especially the outside stairs, very comfortable.
Have a nice day.

Ola Ricardo

A superb daily life shot, & a marvellous pov, looking down from above. Parabens!

Ola Ricardo,
LOL, agree with your note statements !
I like your vertical framing here with the rising background building, even considering because of it the tai chi performers get much less focus, but I think their number compensates for it.
have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Ricardo, amazing shot. a good image toof from and excellent POV.
i saw many times in Asia the early morning Tai Chi.
good colours, excellent POV and note.
thanks, ciao

Bonjour Ricardo,

Good overview and a fine combi of daily life activity and the very cinese arcitecture with the modern fire escape.

What a great photo.
Excellent PoV and composition.
I love the loo. :)
Well done!

ola ricardo,
i think this is a very good te package: your observations from the trip, some thoughts and a good accompanying image;
it is somehow extraordinary to see this type of architecture anf people excersising in its shadow, at least extraordinary to me as european;
best wishes, j.

Hello Ricardo,

I went around your photos this morning and discovered this one, which is for me a very instructive picture, accompanied by a useful note. Although you had no space to move around when you took it , the composition is excellent and perhaps even better that what you could have taken if you were down at the Tai Chi level.

Friendly regards - Izzet

Hi Ricardo,
Oh, this is a great one..!
I love the way you combine the typical architecture with this typical activity, awesome!
Well framed, interesting deatils... I notice the single guy sitting there as waiting for something...
Greetings,
Pablo -

R.Lopes,
A figura é muito interessante, parecendo um barquinho. A composição, mostrando o povo exercitando-se, está excelente. Beleza de trabalho, arquiteto.

Abraço

Paulo
