The second one of this daily life scene.

On the mainland, Kowloon , the waterfront promenade is a very touristic and known place. Everyday, tons of people come here to see the sunset, which is a beautiful symphonie of lighting on the buildings and sky. The over photographed skyline of the city of Hong Kong island, was at my back.

Everyday, chinese come here to fish, unminding of the tourists. They are concentrated in there fishing, even with such a non sofisticated technique, as these guys.
In China it impressed me how long people can squat.
In the background, one of those traditional water taxi, called walla wallas (thanks for the name, K L Che) is passing by.

ola ricardo,
in assumptions (creatively) this is a good image, but two things i'd change:
a) i'd wait a second when at least one of the guys turns his head and we can see (at least part of) his face
b) the composition is neither vertical nor horizontal, i think you could have tried both and choose the one that fits better; here - we see too much of a foreground and too little of the top (for vertical compo), or too little of the river (for horizontal compo);
just my feelings about this image;
best wishes, j.

Bonjour mon ami Ricardo,
Voilà une image intéressante qui s'inscrit dans un prolongement. La représentation de la vie quotidienne est ici très bien mise en valeur.
Une prise de vue qui sort des sentiers battus.
Bravo !
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hi Ricardo, beautiful series about the fisherman in Kowloon.
i remember that men when i went to took some skyline pictures from Kowloon.
good shot, with just a too strong contrast, amazing colours, light and a beautiful background.
thanks, ciao

Olá Ricardo ? How are you doing ? After looking at the scanned versions i don't have a clear opinion . One of the WS , i think "altered image 1 " appears a bit washed with a liquid visual effect and the same occurs somehow with " altered 2" . The "3 altered version" eliminates elements that in a beginning could seem to be a little disturbing focussing the subjet on the fishermen in that bending, squatted position leaving a blurry background that maybe here it is not so important because perhaps your idea was centred in fishermen's theme . Artistically i could find some similitudes between this daily life portrait and some impresionism drawings attending to Renoir masterpieces with difused parts (faces of people having a boat promenade and colour tratment or work )Likewise i like the picture because i like rich compositions in elements , information and details with a good balance and despite scanned and other technical(more from the camera i think ,than from yourself ) handicaps , the result is good !

bom dia , un placer encontrarte ! (i have to learn some portuguese )

Hello. A very nice shot with beautiful light and a colourful background. I like the fishing line framing the perching man. I prefer the original as it provides much more context (although it does feel a tiny bit cramped). The water taxis are called walla wallas.

Difficult choice Ricardo. I don't think the vertical crop works too well as there is not a lot of height to play with and I like the inclusion of the other 2 guys. Perhaps the crop from the bottom is marginally better than the main post, but not enough to raise comment.
What I find remarkable about both fishing posts is that both men seem to have stopped by chance to fish. This one is in "dress" clothes with his vast bunch of keys and his phone, while the other one had his briefcase with him.

Hej Ricardo,
These three people in front are very well placed in the composition of the harbour. The background looks great as well and I like the colours, strong and attractive. Good shot, well done!

Hi Ricardo,
What is that man doing? Will he jump or will he fall? The people in the boat keep their fingers cross. They hope nothing serious will happen.

Hi Ricardo,
You're doing a beautiful series about the fisherman in Kowloon.
Strong contrasts, Amazing colours, light and a beautiful background.
Friendly Regards
Angshu

Hello Ricardo, I like the second in this series of yours showing a part of Chinese life. This man is perched very precariously on the edge. This picture doesn't focus on the fisherman as well as in the first shot but here I like the boat in the background giving us more context.

Lindo momento desse lindo e exotico pais Ricardo. Gosto de fotos espontaneas como essa.
Abraços.
aznegrao.

Looks a little scary be in his position. I can se the thread and the lock he has in his pants, even ther is a savelife too, but still I can not put my life in risk just for a fish, but this is part of the traditon rigth?.

Nice ilumination is clear, sharp does not looks scanned is a good job.

thanks for sharing

P.S by the way if he falls, he can be catch by the guys in the walla wallas

the guy on the right sits in a precarious position, and he does not look as a regular fisherman, rather a businessman with his rich watch, his keys and his mobile, also the way he is dressed, it makes the photo rather curious, plus the background full of traffic of boats is also interesting to watch,
Bravo,
Cath.

Ricardo,
A imagem é uma beleza, mostrando que uma parte significativa dos hábitos de todo esse povo parece ser imutável. Penso que daqui a 100 anos a imagem ainda poderia estar atual.

Abraço

Paulo
