[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
The Bayon complex at Angkor Wat, was built between 1181 & 1220 ad, by Jayavarman VII, after the expulsion of the Champa, from Vietnam, who overran & sacked Angkor Wat, in the 12th century. (1177 ad). Jayavarman VII made Buddhism the State religion at Bayon, breaking 400 years of tradition. (previously Hindu). After his death in 1220, Bayon & Agkor Wat reverted to the Hindu religion. Some of these Buddhist monuments & statues, have been defaced since 1220 ad, to re-establish Hinduism.

I have attached a workshop of the full image. If anyone is interested, I could post an overview shot of the temple complex, showing several of the 37 towers.

details well captured, amazing the relief still there after almost 1000 years

Hi Chris,
It would be nice the post of the overview shot of the 37 towers. Here I like the good enquadrement of the to faces that you captured and the fine contrast and sharpness of the textures of this piece of art. Good colors and very well seen and composed.

Good work and congratulations.
Best to you.
Fernando

Hi Chris J
I like the artchiture Hindu and thanks for your great detailful shot. Well done.

Hi Chris,
I know this place and I like your picture. It's a good idea to crop your original picture. Light is good and not so hard.
Congratulations!

Interesting detail, well captured and presented here. Top sharpness and light. Very good Chris

Bonjour Chris,
Philippe

If we look sometimes what medieval (or even earlier) man already achieved with limited resources (tools I mean), it's sometimes incredible. This picture shows that nicely too. It is not your best (if I look at the image alone) but it is very interesting and the note is very instructive. Thanks for sharing.

The texture and feel of this shot is amazing! The stones are so old and weathered that at first glance it appears to be a natural formation. Of course when you look closer you can see the lines and the faces, making this seem like a bridge between the natural and man made worlds. I have to visit this place one day. Excellent!

Hi Chris,
Excellent detail shot of the famous temple complex.Good angle and perspective. The soft light together with the excellent sharpness makes every detail visible.
Greetings,
hermann

Hi Chris! These are fascinating faces indeed! I like how you've captured two of them facing almost symmetrical directions. Very nice textures on them, too. In some of your last few images, the entire photo seems quite light, though, even considering my Mac screen (which displays images lighter than PCs). You may want to experiment with levels to darken them. This may not work at all, but it may enhance the mood of some of your photos. Good luck!

Excellent details, sharpness and quality, great informative shot, good POV and a nice symmetry you create in this POV,well composed and worked,
Yours
M

Hi Chris
A well tight frame onthis textured sharp stone sculpture, indeed compared with the WS is this one far more impressive.

Hi Chris. This shot has something of a 3d look to it. The textures are amazing. I certainly like the tight crop. Well done Chris!

Hi Chris, A nice close up view of the stone sculpture. Good job to show the 3D effect in this picture. I like the nice contrast and rich texture in this picture.

Hi Chris,

This is better then the workshop because I like seeing the details up close. And I would be interested to see some more images of this fascinating place.
