Photographer’s Note
This house sits under a perfectly blue sky with a backdrop of gorgeous mountain scenery. It's on the southern route from Kabul to Bamiyan where the road passes through a small town with a few houses and a filling station. It may be Posht-e-Mazar or possibly somewhere nearby. It's difficult to locate exactly where you are on a map of Afghanistan.

Hi Jonathan. At first glance, I thought it was New Mexico. The exposure is great, all the colors come out nicely. it definitely lacks a human element, though.

The contrast between the blue and the brown is wonderful. I also like the window. The perspective of the composition is very nice. Very well done!

What an amazingly beautiful country! I guess this house is traditional, but my first thought when I saw it was American Southwest native - it's got a similar look. Must have been an incredible trip, and I'm lookig forward to seeing more shots from Afghanistan. Great work!

Lovely colours and contrast, Jonathan. The blue sky makes this so much more cheerful. All my Afghanistan shots have brown skies because of the dust. The mud brick house looks quite new. Cheers . . . David

Hi Jonathan, A good simple and informative shot to show the adobe house, the road and the environment. I like the beautiful contrast of the brown colored house against the blue sky. Good use of the light angle with clear shadows. Nice sharpness and depth. Well done.
