This old castle acts as a lookout post for invading tribes. There are several such fortifications along the Bamiyan Valley to protect the ancient cities built along the cliff side.
The warlike tendencies of this region have existed throughout the ages. It's not just a modern phenomenon.

Hi Jonathan,
Another nice photo from afghanistan. composition is nice and I really like the light as well as the details. The warlike tendencies you mentioned have been spread out through the planet. Afghanistan was doing so much better before the soviet invasion which followed by interference of pakistan, saudi arabia, usa, iran.. They had semi modern cities with "proper" schools, universities, hospitals..etc.

Hi Jonathan, It looks that there is no one to take care of the castle for a long time. It looks like that the castle ruin can be disappeared in the next storm. Good PoV and nice contrast with the green foreground plant to contrast with the ancient architecture. A very well taken picture.

Hi Jonathan,
I like the contrast of this luxuriant foreground with the so arid background, the whole thing under that magnificent sky.
What a shame, I'm forgotten the main subject. Colours are to great.

Hi!
The shot you had made is great! The colors and the contrast between blue and green and with a warm light line between is great! Also the composition is well chosen. You had a very nice light that day.
