Silkroad travels: Kargush pass
We left the last village (Langar in the Wakhan valley) to climb up to the Pamir plateau of Tajikistan. The road was steep and gravelly, no village came to sight for three days but the scenery changed every ten minutes. The view of the picture is (at about 3000 m alt.) in a Southwest direction into the Wakhan mountain range. On the other side of the Pamir river is Afghanistan, with a 5'576m nameless peak at the horizon (the 6320 m high Koh-e-Pamir is out of the picture to the left). This part of Afghanistan is not settled, not even by shepards.
In the workshop section I present another view from the ascension to the Khargush pass.

ces paysages desertiques et grandioses me facinent; le cadrage avec les vélos sur la route horizontale face à la vallée verticale est égallement bien fait. ce périple a vélo nous offre de bien belles photos; Merci

Hallo Dieter!
Großartig, einfach nur großartig ist diese Landschaft und offenbar so gut wie vegetationslos. Hier hat die Erosion jede Menge Angriffsfläche. Bisher eines Deiner eindrucksvollsten Fotos!

phantastische Reise, unglaublich. Hattet ihr da keine Schwierigkeiten in diesem Grenzgebiet ? Drei Tage im absoluten outback...hast Du eine Homepage mit einer genaueren Reisebeschreibung ?

Beautiful landscape and I have to admit this is an achievement crossing this region on a bicycle. You were brave. Did you ever experience any problem or danger?

das ist schon Extremsport. Drei Tage durch unbewohntes Gebiet zu radeln ist mutig und abenteuerlustig. Schön, dass du die Muße gefunden hast Bilder auf dieser Expedition zu schießen und sie für uns ins Netz zu stellen.

Lieber Dieter,
Bin auf dem Sprung nach Genf, aber vorher möchte ich Dir noch gratulieren zu diesem schönen Bild. Gute vertikale Komposition; auch interessant ist, dass Du Deinen Reisecompagnon mit den Velos ins Bild einbezogen hast. Auch das kontrastreiche Workshopbild ist interessant.
