Photographer’s Note
Silk Road travel:
I present to you the Afghan village of Chivich, situated at the Panj river, which forms a natural barrier to neighboring Tajikistan (from where the shot was taken). The village is part of the Badakhsan province, inhabited by Tajik speaking Afghans. The Hindukush peak in the background is an unnamed, 5018 m high mountain. On the flanks of the mountain you notice the characteristic "bisses", irrigation ditches bringing water from faraway brooks into the village. The picture would be much the same on the Tajik side of the river. You may spot the military road to the left, today grandiosly called "Pamir highway".

Hallo Dieter!
Nach einem Tag Krankenhaus geht's jetzt wieder auf die Seidenstraße ;-) Man denkt so oft bei Deinen Bildern, dass sich die Großartigkeit der Landschaft kaum noch steigern lässt, aber hier ist es Dir mit dieser "Mondlandschaft" wieder einmal gelungen. Die grünen Bänder an den Hängen erinnern mich an die Suonen im Wallis. Irgendein Objekt im Vordergrund wäre hier noch schön gewesen ...

It's a nice view with interesting notes. You could adjusted the camera for less exposure, but that's something you can also fix by software edition. I've done a workshop.

Hallo Dietrich!
Ich sehe, du setzt deine abenteuerlichen Reisen nach Zentralasien fort. Ich wünschte, ich hätte auch die Gelegenheit, mich dort mal umzuschauen, aber daraus wird wohl sobald nichts. Bis dahin muss ich mit solchen tollen Fotos von grandiosen Landschaften begnügen.
