Taken in Ponta do Sol when the ocean was furious.
People and boats are so fragile against the strength of the ocean. I was afraid for this man so close to the waves. Daily life there ...
A few minutes later, the fishermen decided to push the boats far from the harbour.
Ponta do Sol (Portuguese for the "point of the sun") is a small fishing town situated in the northern part of the island municipality of Santo Antão, Cape Verde.

You're right, that does look dangerous! You framed this very well, with the jumble of boats placed against the violent ocean. The light reflects off the boats very nicely. The sky is a bit grainy, or maybe that's just my monitor. Anyway, an excellent shot! Regards, Ken.

"Mar brabo", would say a Cape-verdean.
Too much light to the top left, but a great moment captured.
Edit: mar brabo means "wild sea".

The fierceness of the waves, the fragile boats and the even more fragile men make this a very arresting photo. It looks as if all might be washed away. Perhaps the Espirito Santo is protecting them? Sharpness, clarity, color, composition all are here. This is an amazing photograph.

I can almost hear the roaring of the furious ocean! It's great that you have the seemingly tiny people as reference for the giant wave. As always, great clarity and composition. I even love the chaotic order of the boats and the moody blue color of the Cape Verde series. Salut! :)

I'm afraid for the man so close to the waves too! And the wave looks really powerful... Not to mention the parking lot for the boats:) Seems like some of those boats should get a fine, since they're blocking each other's route!!
