Wind was notable blowing around the island, Gert, seeing it on the waves and trees. I like the WS with the rocks, maybe this could be posted as main photo as well.
Only one lone man on the bench looking across to the mountains.

Han hadde litt av en utsikt, mannen på benken. Selv om benken er vendt andre veien, har han, fornuftig nok, snudd seg mot sjøen og de flotte fjellene i bakgrunnen. De to trærne gir en fin kontrast og rammer fint inn benken og personen. Fint lys også. Virkelig bra!

Hej Gert,
It is your style to show view from a less travelled one of these islands. Very nice harbourside view. Cobblestones, windswept tree and palm and the guy with colourful shirt are good foreground items. And the background island is quite mountaineous and rough edged.

Nice view of this lone man and the island in the distance. I like how he is sitting under that small bit of shade. There is a feeling of longing in this scene. I also like the WS showing Port Novo. I wonder how much there was to do and see in that city. Maybe we will see more if it in future photos. :-)

Lovely landscape - of course not as good as the Arctic in late winter ;-) but still, the photo makes me want to be there (rather than in my office in Croydon...), sitting under a tree and looking at the distant mountains across the sea.

Hello Gert,
the man looking at the neighbouring island with such concentration and intensity has offered a great gift to your composition, an interesting story within a quiet setting and emotions to be considered and shared by the viewer. I like the warm light and the effects of the wind, the dramatic or mysterious background and the significance of the distance between the bench and the mountain in the horizon. I share your thoughts too, when I look back at all my shots I see so many that are worthy of posting. But I don't post everyday so its hard to get to them all.

its so strange to see you posting a newer coloured photo, i had to make sure this actually was you!

does that man have a large tatoo on his back or is that just the shadows from the leaves above him?

for me, the stones on the ground and the mountain scape in the bg make the scene, as well as the light. nice shot

I would like to visit each former portuguese colonies in the world, but this is impossible. anyway cape verde is in my list of desires. lovely image of the man watching the ocean and the sharp summits of the other island ahead. very nice quality and sense of loneliness and peace.

Great title. I like the mood you create with this photo, the solitary person wistfully looking out to see. I can almost feel my blood pressure dropping. Almost. The depth of field is superb, beautifully displaying the far off mountains. Lovely natural colours and excellent definition. Nice one.
