Donkeys, Equus asinus, are still used to help people in Cape Verde.
In this photo the donkey is small and almost camouflaged against the wall; see a closer and a farther view in the workshops.
This is the road between Mindelo city and Baía das Gatas, in São Vicente Island. The place is somewhere between Lameirão and Pé de Verde. The mountain is Monte Verde, the highest (750 m / 2460 ft.) and seen from everywhere on this island.

Ola amigo Francisco interessante composição , gostei do homem e do burro ao lado os dois vão concentrados na subida , o burro quase que não se nota devido a cor ser parecida com a do murro ,

I love this photo so much, I couldn't resiost playing with it. I'm glad to see the man doesn't try to ride this tiny fellow as I saw in Greece, photos will be posted eventually. Why so I love it? I think it's the contrasts, the modern yellow line painterd on the cobblestones, the rock wall, the way you've framed the two trudging up the hillside. SAA, Pat

Bom dia Francisco. Bota burrinho nisso: é quase do tamanho de um cão grande. Escolho a "mais longe", na perspectiva mais alargada, que me parece ser a mais agradável. Visto daqui, o ponto mais alto do monte verde, não parece assim tão alto - e de facto 750m é baixito...

Este burrito es pequenito, es un bebe?.
No se por que pero sigo insitiendo que Mexico y Cabo verde se parecen mucho es por eso que esocgi esta foto de el burrito con las fotos que critticaste de mi en la que habia burros tambien.
