Hello Jean,
I probably had fish for most of my meals on Cape Verde. It was always available and I could feel safe that it was always fresh. In this photo the fresh catch provides a fine foreground, but further back we get a very nice view of the fisherman, his nets and the small boats, nicely out of focus. The sun has cast lovely reflections in the water.
Today I joined you in Cape Verde after rediscovering a number of old photos I had forgotten.

Il faut croire du moins à première vue que la pèche a été bonne. J'aime la construction de l'image avec l'homme en contre jour qui finit sa journée de travail.

Excellent sharpness of the fish lying in the foreground and superb depth of field for the man responsible for catching them as well as the many boats in the harbour. Good lighting too. Very well done.

It's an opportunistic point & shoot transforming an ordinary subject for an excellent contre jour photography where warm light has greatly enhanced the pic quality. The timing is precise. Excellent shot, Congrats

Hello Jean,

A superb daily life shot of the daily catch. I like the tight framing and cropping and the shallow dof. Good to include the fisherman repairing his net in the bg. Tfs!

I just looked up Sal on google maps, I didn't realize it was SO far away from the mainland, and also its very small.
from where did you fly and is it easy getting here?

a very interesting scene with the fish in the fg and the hunter in the bg preparing his tools of the trade. fine capture
