Photographer's Note

As promised I now go back to digital colour photos for a while. I have so many forgotten or neglected photos from the eleven years since I bought my first digital camera in early 2006. Looking through my archives I have wondered many times why I didn't show this, or that photo. So here they come.

This is from my very first journey in the digital era, to the Cape Verde islands in the Atlantic ocean outside West Africa. I took this photo just after I had arrived by ferry to the island called Santo Antão in the northwestern corner of the archipelago consisting of nine inhabited islands. I had checked into a hotel and immediately gone for a walk in the town called Porto Novo. This man was watching the neighbouring island of São Vicente as the sun was about to set. Here is a larger version.

As workshops I have posted a photo of my ferry just setting out on its return journey and a view of Porto Novo when the ferry was approaching the port an hour earlier.

I tried to add the map references but wasn't allowed to. If you want to see where I took the photo the coordinates are 17.017794 -25.061540.
