Hello Marie-Louise,
I like this post of yours because the Air Birds and Bats made me laugh, and I like the ws photo of a hoopoe. Did you notice that Ike Harel showed this bird in one of his recent uploads? What a coincidence! And in one of the critiques for his photos I read, that this special, rare bird was common fifty years ago in the region of Germany (Niedersachsen) where I live now. What a pity I never had the chance to see one of them here nor elsewhere in Germany. I saw them in Spain, but only for a short glimpse and too far away to take photos.

I am sorry you don't see hoopoes in your part of Germany. Maybe they are there all the same, but they are very, very shy. Thanks for telling me about Ikeharel's hoopoe. I hadn't seen it yet, because I don't have too much time for TE and only go on each one's gallery at intervals. But I shall make sure to visit his posts at the earliest opportunity.I have seen his hoopoe. It's a really good, bright shot. I have also admired all the birds you have posted lately.
