Great MJR 2013-07-15 23:47

You've done it again.
A stunning image, bright and colourful. The fill in lighting, reflected off the polished surface, gives a very pleasing effect.
The photo is as a.p.u. technically very proficient, so a couple of non photo thoughts.
It is strange how odd it looks that the player is steadying his music, not holding his instrument, how incongrous the oversize watch looks, as does the hi viz jacket. Its needs a spot of selective recolouring ! And my favourite, the kid on his Dad's shoulders, but that may be just a stage I'm going through.
( that must be you in blue, or is it the brown, reflected in the bell end. )
kind regards

you could collate these shots in a Lanimers Theme...

Default To MJR: Reflections.......

Hi Martin,

As with just about every photograph I take, I notice things much later when I come to look at them on my computer. Of course, at the time of shooting I didn't really appreciate the light on the tuba player's face nor did I notice the litttle boy on his father's shoulders in the distance. So it was pure serendipity that I managed to include those two features in this picture.

But what a compliment - I can't ever recall having had my reflection seen in a bell end before. Or if I have, I've never been in a position to have noticed. No, the guy in blue with the big belly was using a small video camera: in the reflection, I'm just to the right of him with cream shirt and dark trousers and a marginally smaller belly.

But, to a technical matter, I think this picture displays better here because although it's still about 800 x 750 pixels, the file size is around 550 KB (now well within the upload limits for TE).

Best Wishes,

No advice on seeing one's own reflection in a bell end would be deemed acceptable here, so I shall refrain.

On the other hand, after some Scottish tea in the Autumn is another matter altogether !
