Hello Beverly,
Not so long ago another picture of this view has been posted by Bryan Katz (joiseyshowaa). In his note he wrote that it were the ruins of a pier.
No doubt these posts create a very interesting foreground for the view of Manhattan.
Also the sky above Manhattan is very beautiful.
I'm not sure what I would have done with the building at the right side. You decided not to crop it away. Did you keep it for the composition ?

I have looked up Bryan Katz, in the members but with no result, so I cannot view his photographs or read his notes. Curious!

Yes, I left the r/h tower as, when I had the stakes running centrally, it balanced the tall skyscrapers to the left.

The picture I mentioned was posted on 2010-08-14 at 2:35 under New York.
