Great yubaraj 2010-08-03 22:39

Dear Members,

Please do not recognize this Mountain as MT. EVEREST.
This photo is of the Mount "Gaurishankar" which lies on the way to EVEREST from Kathmandu, Nepal. It got its name after Hindu Lord Shankar (aka Pashupatinath) & Goddess Parwati, wife of Shankar (aka Gauri). The pick is the symbol of Lord Shankar where as the snow covered triangle beneath the peak is the symbol of Goddess Gauri.

Mount Gauri Shankar (7134m), 27į 59' 0" N, 86į 20' 0" E, is the second highest peak of the Rolwaling Himal range, behind Menlungtse (7181m). Where as MT. Everest lies in Kumbhakarna Himal Range which is the highest Mountain of the World.
