Great macondo 2018-01-08 4:53

Hi Bertrand.
A wonderful shot, so sharp in showing the gorilla's hair and eyes, only emphasised by the blurry foliage in the foreground. But I wonder if you were up really close, or used a long lens. Anyway, it's a terrific shot.
Regards,
Andrew

Default To macondo: Thanks!

Thank you Andrew!
I used my 70-200mm lens at 135mm, so not too close, not too far - the group of gorillas we approached was habituated, i.e. was regularly visited by and accustomed to human visitors with no hostile intentions. Some of the gorillas came very close, others kept a bit of distance. The hour I spent with the 14 gorillas was just magic.
Kind regards,
Bertrand

Default Thanks!

Hi Bertrand.
Thank you for your technical explanation. You must have taken so many photos. I would love to do the same one day.
Keep on shooting!
Regards
Andrew
