I actually tried cropping the boy out, but it somehow destroyed the symmetry in the picture, it just looked boring without him...

I have to concur, it's a wonderful lense. It's probably one of the best canon ever built, definitely the cheapes high-end lense I've ever seen (around 100Ä new). I have much use of the speed too.

Hi Aleksandra, thanks for the compliment. I use a dedicated film scanner, I think it's hard to get decent results when scanning negatives/slides in a flat bed scanner.
