I like the colors and the feeling of this photo, the slight tilt, the dark shadow creeping across the lawn leaving only a sliver of light remaining. The shadow, the trees and the heavy clouds seem almost to be pressing down on the little house, but to the left it is open.

Great long exposure shot and excellent depth of field, but what I like most about this is that even though its an inanimate place, there is such an emotional quality to it. When is the train coming? Who is it bringing? Where is it going? What awaits me when I board? What is going on in the city just above my head? ;-)

Wonderful shot! I am really enjoying this shot and I appreciate your note because I was unaware of this delightful tradition in Ecuador! We often burn effigies in the US during political protests, especially of the Bush administration. Luck has nought to do with it here! ;-)[+]

Well said Javier. I like this shot, the diagonal lines drew my eye down to the lower floor and the person standing there, your slow shutter speed makes the person look so mysterious. There's a combination of feelings here, the bright colors of the graffiti are actually a bit cheerful and whimsical looking and then the crumbling worn-down building underneath that same graffiti and the figure at the bottom of the stairs are a bit mysterious and dark. I enjoy this!

Oh I wish I was there. In Houston right now we're wearing skirts and sandals, our summer is already here! We already have to turn the A/C on just to keep from sweating inside, and here you are lucky enough to have this beautiful snow! *sigh* I miss real winter, something Houston is devoid of. This really does capture that glorious feeling of standing in the snow in the mountains. I like this time of day and the range from bright white in the sunny spots to dark blue in the shadows, and the color of the sky energizes the whole scene.
